The Company was founded by Paul Julius Reuter in 1851 as a business transmitting stock market quotations. France 24 is a global news and current affairs channel that targets the overseas market, similar to BBC World News. Funded by the French government with an annual budget of approximately €80 million, it is based in Issy-les-Moulineaux, near Paris.
